My Story
Hi, I’m David Pennington.
Most of the time you’ll find me standing in front of a canvas covered in colour, chasing something I can feel but can’t always explain.
I’m a UK-based artist who believes creativity is more than decoration. For me, painting is worship.
Some of my work happens quietly in the studio.
But a lot of it happens live, in the streets, in churches, at weddings, during worship nights, or in rooms full of people where something meaningful is unfolding.
I’m not just trying to paint pictures.
I’m trying to capture moments;
Moments of hope.
Moments of faith.
Moments where heaven feels a little closer to earth.
Painting What Words Can’t Say
There are things words struggle to carry.
- Grief.
- Joy.
- Encounter.
- Redemption.
Art has a way of holding those things.
Through bold colour, layered textures, and hidden symbolism, my work tells stories about faith, identity, and the beauty of redemption. Sometimes the meaning is obvious. Other times it sits quietly beneath the surface waiting to be discovered.
Every painting is part of a bigger story.
Snap of heaven on earth!
Why I Paint
I believe creativity reflects the nature of God.
The first thing we learn about Him in the Bible is that He creates.
So when we create, whether that’s painting, music, design, or storytelling, we’re echoing something of His heart.
That’s why everything I make centres around one simple phrase:
Only Jesus.
Not religion.
Not performance.
Just a desire to create something honest, beautiful, and full of meaning.
Art of Redemption
Art of Redemption, founded by David Pennington, is more than a collection of paintings.
It’s a journey exploring themes of redemption, identity, faith, hope, and restoration.
Because the truth is, broken things don’t have to stay broken.
Sometimes the most beautiful stories come from places that once felt lost.
And that’s what redemption looks like.
(Everything we do has to point back to Him, “Only Jesus”)
